MEET THE TEAM

My name is Coach Addi and I am swim instructor who loves helping students build confidence in the water. With a passion for pursuing medical school, I bring patience, care, and enthusiasm to every lesson. I enjoy watching swimmers grow, learn new skills, and discover their strengths - experiences that inspire me, both as a teacher and a future healthcare professional.

Hello! My name is Lucia Justus. Outside of the pool, I am a Senior at Pine View School. I also participate in various clubs and I have volunteered as an assistant to camp counselors at the local Faulhaber Fab Lab, and Mote Marine Aquarium.
While I have been swimming since 2018, I have been with the Sarasota Sharks since 2020, when I moved from Washington, DC, to Sarasota. In May of 2023 I also became a swim instructor for the Sarasota Sharks, and since then have loved every minute of it. I have learned a lot during my time here, both from other instructors and from my own experience. I have taught all levels of swimming, though I especially enjoy instructing those in the lower levels. Overall, I’m so excited to continue my journey here at the Sarasota Sharks and I can’t wait to teach as well as to see the improvement of both new and returning students!

He later attended Deakin University, earning a degree in Marine Biology, before relocating to the United States in 2005. For the next decade, Coach Kane dedicated his career to the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, specializing in manatee rescue and rehabilitation.
Coach Kane joined the Sarasota Sharks coaching staff in August 2020, leading the White Group Sharks program and assisting with both the Senior Prep and Sharks Masters teams. Returning to competition in 2021 as a Sharks Masters swimmer, he exemplifies a culture of excellence, earning four U.S. Masters Swimming Individual National Top 10 rankings, six Relay National Top 10 honors, and a silver medal in the 200 butterfly at the 2023 USMS National Championships.
Holding an ASCA Level 3 Coaching Certification, Coach Kane also serves as the Site Supervisor for the Sarasota Sharks SwimAmerica™ Swim School. As Program Director & Administrator, Coach Kane provides strategic oversight of all non-competitive programming, including adult aquatics, swim school, lifeguarding, camps, and seasonal initiatives. A certified American Red Cross Lifeguard and Instructor, he is also an Assistant Coach at Riverview High School. Known for his athlete-centered approach, Coach Kane is dedicated to developing not only technical excellence, but also confidence, character, and leadership in every swimmer.
Beyond the pool, Coach Kane is a proud father of three Sharks swimmers, Ocean (15), Evelyn (13) and Charlotte (12). He enjoys playing multiple musical instruments, serving as a worship leader at Grace Community Church, and spending time with his family.
